Crossing my fingers

I've been obsessively checking up on news about the protests in Egypt and in the Middle East (the BBC has a great feed and Al-Jazeera is a good source too). I have two friends who are over there, one whose last e-mail mentioned he smelled tear gas for the first time. Not really confidence inspiring. It's a bit naive to hope for a peaceful resolution to this, but I still hope this revolution happens with a minimal number of injuries and damage (too late) and the move towards a new government isn't too chaotic and ridiculous (again, naive).

Anyways, join me in crossing my fingers for the safety of everyone -- Egyptians and expats alike -- and for a better Egypt.
