New Year's resolutions check-in

Happy Chinese New Year! The lunar new year has started. So it's a good time to check-in on how I'm progressing on my white people* new year's resolutions:
1. Write thank you cards. It's on my calendar to start making these guys. Shooting to at least get paper cut this weekend. Then fill out and address during the first week of school when the teachers manage to stretch roll call and add/drops over the entire three hours alloted for class. I'm pretty embarrassed these are not done, as there is much thanking to be done.

2. Employ a "one-touch" policy with as much as possible. Sometimes my inbox goes over to 80-ish, but I've been pretty conscientious about keeping my messages at bay. Been better about folding clothes and putting them away properly. Still struggling with employing this policy on my work table, which serves as my craft table, my sewing table (yes, the two are separate), eventually my drafting table, my computer table, my dining table. It's a massive pain in the ass to clear up, say, a sewing project, so I can work on flowers or eat. Any suggestions???

3. When feeling overwhelmed or frustrated, write a list. I've been keeping to-do lists more often, even listing the tiniest of duties.** It's helped me keep on track, although I'm struggling with executing them completely.

Lunar new year's resolutions to come...

*How did Jan. 1 become New Year's? For some reason I assume it's some Greek or Roman ruler who decided this after stuffing the calendar with months named after themselves. Hence, the totally informed, kosher designation.

**I have to write these little things, because I'm convinced my brain is turning into a marble, aka early on-set Alzheimer's. Latest evidence of this: I was microwaving lunch at work. It was taking a long time, so I decided to open the office fridge to amuse myself. I look down, and in the bottom-most shelf that holds ketchup and such... There are the glasses I thought I'd lost months and months ago. There is just no explanation -- well, early on-set Alzheimer's. Or the evil receptionist (or more accurately, the always-in-a-foul-mood receptionist).
